Intel has been containing a phenomenal share in the market of producing processors. They have been known for their exceptional processors. However, it seems as if their trend is losing its shape. The mobile chips are taking over with the supercomputers.
Supercomputers have been in usage for the perspectives of government, industry and academia as well. They play a vital role in various researches about the nuclear weapons. Intel86 has been keeping a major role in dominating the servers and PCs markets. Yet, now the smartphones that are being formed lately are more basing upon chips.
There held a conference where Fujitsu concluded about their new invention. The invention is about the supercomputers that are ought to be launched. The project is being labeled as Project K.
The upcoming Super-Computers will be holding the capability to be used for biomedical, energy researches and other uses and hence they require a better processing processors than before. Intel86 has always been involved into the projects as huge as this one. Yet, this very time – they have been failed to do so. The announcement further stated that the computers are to be turned on or launched in the near future (maximum til 2020).
The Supercomputer builders are instead scoping for the designs that could enable the machine to work with more processing speed. Although the Intel86 has been doing a phenomenal job all these years, but the case with Supercomputers is slightly different. The transistors that were being designed by Intel86 were shrinked, smaller and provided the flexible work with acceptable speed limit. Yet, they failed to renovate their models with the passage of time. The innovation didn’t strike them and they followed a successful, yet limited criteria which is now delivering them a seizing point.
Now the requirement is for the Supercomputers and their processors are not seemingly to fit accurately, according to the need. The transistors that are being forward by the Intel86 consume a lot of energy to the point that it’s getting out of control. Therefore the builders of Supercomputers are hence searching for the alternative designs that are as efficient and flexible.
The assistant dean of research computing department from Harward University, James Cuff has stated that the current era is all about the high performance computing. The designers who’d follow the criteria of leveling their machine power consumption would be the only winners. However, the high performance for computing will also be a must-requirement. Henceforth, the designers that want to work for these super-computers must design the flexible key algorithms and the codes that provide high performance computing and shrinked transistors.
On the other hand, ARM whilst considering the fact that Intel86 is almost losing the battle is spending dollars in converting their chips into the computers that could work with high performances. It is creating partnerships with various huge corporations like IBM, Nvidia and different other software firms that in combination can make ARM successful in accomplishing their goal. The goal is indeed to ensure that the upcoming big Super-computing machines run on ARM based processors.
